We have new spaces available! If you’re a local artist, activist or social entrepreneur (or any combination of the above), a space in the house of cooperation might be just what you’ve been looking for.
If you’re interested in creative workspace please let us know by clicking this link and telling us a little about what you might need. We’ll be keeping this link active for expressions of interest and maintaining a wait list for spaces moving forward using a ‘best fit’ approach to filling vacancies, offering people spaces that suit their practices as and when they’re available so the more clarity you can offer us about what you need the better.
We know that accessing workspace can be a barrier for people wanting to develop their work or creative practice and have done our best to create a model for offering space that allows good flexibility to suit a range of people and purposes. With a number of our studios opening up co-working opportunities on a routine basis enabling more people to benefit from what the house offers.
Our experience to date has shown us with immense clarity that being around other creative and socially minded people can be really helpful and uplifting and even help to catalyse your work. We’ve developed a supportive culture across the house and are keen to share that more widely and continue to build our collective and what the house brings to the town we call home in this manner. If this sounds like something you need in your life - please complete the expression of interest form above.
Throughout this year we will be growing our studio into a more holistic creative community hub, working together to add an improved range of ancillary spaces with room hire options for community facing activities and events. If you’re a local practitioner looking to offer creative workshops, courses, yoga, meditation, or anything that makes life better, give us a shout and ask for a look around.
At present we have;
A space in the Tech Room of the Artists Attic (with James):
James currently has a workspace in the tech room in the artist coop on the top floor of the house and is looking for a studio room mate, this space lends itself better to someone desk oriented - ideally more laptop, less painty sticky.
This shared studio is just over 10 sq meters, so you can expect exclusive use of 50% of this space.
James is mostly quiet when he’s working, sometimes programming, sometimes writing, with the occasional outburst of swear words. He also notes that he does enjoy a good biscuit.
*This space costs £87.50 / month inc. all costs.
---
And potential to make available some of the following space dependant upon what people need;
Private Studio:
We have a 10 square meter studio on the first floor next to the Riso Room. The space has a small window to the side of the property and a built in full height cupboard for storage.
*This space costs £175 / month inc. all costs.
---
GTC Co-Studio:
The Ground Floor studio that’s been GTC HQ will soon be up for grabs for use as a coop / co-work studio. It’s a nice light room, on the ground floor with a partial sea view.
The space overall is 22.5 meters squared. If you’re interested in space in a shared ground floor studio space this might be the option for you. Keep an eye out for more details in the future.
