Meet the Residents

Hopefully you know who we are, but fronted by Jo & Beki, co-created and owned by many, we have our HQ on the ground floor of the house.  Helping to organise and make sure people making good things happen have more of what they need and less of what they don’t.

RTG Arts is set up for people predominantly interested in drawing, painting, printmaking and collage, it hosts a weekly Art Club as well as Rosie’s own practice as a mixed media artist.

Morecambe Community Riso Press is a DIY eco print facility offering access to the Riso printer, workshops, courses and a weekly Zine Club. Led by artist, designer and illustrator Charlotte Done.

Revamp Raccoon offers studio facilities for people interested in textiles with sewing, knitting, crochet and even rug tufting - the studio hosts a weekly Sewing Club, Mending Clubs and a range of premium workshops as well as Wendy’s own practice as a mixed media artist.

Queer by Gum is a grassroots enterprise offering clubs, workshops, projects and safer spaces for the LGBTQ+ community to create, connect and organise, the studio offers creative co-working for the LGBTQ+ community.

The Nib Crib Writers Desk is spearheaded by Jim Lupton as an extension of the Nib Crib.  The studio has a tiny library with a single desk and window.  A space to write, dream, imagine create and get down your inspired words onto paper.

Jwllrs, co-lead by Amy & Jamie, is a free alternative art school offering modules, exhibitions and events in Morecambe, with a space at GTC studios, Jwllrs deliver artists support programmes with a focus on the Morecambe area. 

Sprite Studio is a tech studio run by James Smith & Jessie Holmes.  With a shared interest in the digital world including experimental game design and virtual reality the duo are looking to offer clubs and opportunities to get techy in due course.

Ellie Barret is a sculptor, writer, practice-based researcher and artist-mother. Materials, their behaviours and their socio-political roles are the core of her work - she is drawn to non-art materials, having made sculptures from salt dough, tin foil, soap and kitchen paper as a pathway to accessible making.

Daniel Brereton is an artist working in painting and film, his work in film is heavily influenced by the culture and people from the local area.  His paintings are more of an expression of his imagination and explore the use of form, shapes and colours - often resembling flowers and other objects.
